Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL CHIMCHAK Peacefully at the St. Josephs Nursing Home, on October 3, 2004, Michael Chimchak passed away at the age of 92. Michael is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Anne (Ken) Maskell and Malvina, both of Winnipeg; his two grandsons, Craig (Suzanne) Maskell and their children Natalie and Christopher of Ottawa, and Michael (Susanne) Maskell of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his sister Stella (Steve) Skawritko of Winnipeg Beach, his parents and his sister Kasia Sega in Poland. Michael was born in Mariampol, Poland on September 12, 1912 and came to Canada in July 1939 with his wife and two young daughters. He farmed in the Winnipeg Beach area for 25 years. He moved to Winnipeg in 1965 and was employed with the City of Winnipeg, Parks and Recreation, until his retirement in 1977. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. S. Szajkowski, Jadwiga Zaleski of Home Care Services, Dr. Gorski and the Staff at St. Josephs Residence, for taking care of Michael in the last few years of his life. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family and friends can make a donation in Michaels memory to the Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation Assoc., 2300 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, MB R2V 3M3, The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3, or a charity of your choice. He is not gone, He is here with us. He is in the sun that shines, He is in the moon that glows, He is in the stars that twinkle, He is in the wind that blows.
